All you have to do is enter your name in the pot and you could win. The prize award is not menetary or material things. This time you will be awarded with the help of the men of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. we will help you with anything you need done around the house. It could range from moving at the end of the quarter, yardwork, or just any little thing you needed assistance with..We will not be providing major equipment of any sort. such as lawnmower or items of that sort. Alpha Phi Alpha was founded at Cornell University on December 4th, 1906

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Ivy League men's basketball champion Cornell Big Red will open 2009 NCAA tournament play as the No. 14 seed in the West region and will meet No. 3 seed Missouri out of the Big XII Conference on Friday, March 20 in Boise, Idaho.

Game time is set for 3 p.m. ET (1 p.m. MT), or approximately 30 minutes following the completion of the game between Marquette and Utah State.

There are two more Friday the 13ths this year, one in March and one in November. Three Friday the 13ths in one year only happens every 11 years!

Today marks the 100 year anniversary of NAACP here's the history:

The NAACP was formed partly in response to the continuing horrific practice of lynching and the 1908 race riot in Springfield, the capital of Illinois and birthplace of President Abraham Lincoln.

Appalled at the violence that was committed against blacks, a group of white liberals that included Mary White Ovington and Oswald Garrison Villard, both the descendants of abolitionists, William English Walling and Dr. Henry Moscowitz issued a call for a meeting to discuss racial justice.

Some 60 people, seven of whom were African American (including W. E. B. Du Bois, Ida B. Wells-Barnett and Mary Church Terrell), signed the call, which was released on the centennial of Lincoln's birth.

1. John Mercer Langston was the first black man to become a lawyer in Ohio when he passed the Bar in 1854.
2. When he was elected to the post of Town Clerk for Brownhelm, Ohio in 1855 Langston became one of the first African Americans ever elected to public office in America.
3. John Mercer Langston was also the great-uncle of Langston Hughes, famed poet of the Harlem Renaissance.

The Eta Kappa chapter went down to Lake Charles, LA for 2009 Districts this weekend.

We competed in the Collegiate's Scholar Bowl and came in 2nd place.
Clyde Smith also represented the chapter in the Oratorical Contest.
